School of Engineering goes to Our LIVINGSPACE Gallery

Students from Advanced Diploma In Construction Engineering (ADCE) under the School of Engineering (SENG) embarked on an educational visit to the HDB Our LIVINGSPACE Gallery, where they explored the remarkable journey of Singapore’s public housing development. The gallery provided an immersive experience, tracing the evolution of housing from early settlements to today’s smart and sustainable towns.

Through a series of interactive exhibits and multimedia displays, students gained insights into urban planning principles, engineering considerations, and sustainability initiatives that shaped HDB estates. The visit also highlighted how technology, policy, and design work together to create liveable and community-centric environments.

Students evaluated housing designs and strategized based on real data and practical outcomes, demonstrating the long-term effort required to transform Singapore’s housing landscape over decades. They were also inspired by innovative solutions shaping future smart and sustainable towns, connecting theoretical engineering knowledge with real-world urban development practices.

By connecting theoretical engineering knowledge with real-world urban development practices, the visit provided a meaningful perspective on how engineers play a vital role in shaping cities for generations to come.
