NIM School of Engineering (SENG) Students Explore Carbon Literacy at The Carbon Gallery
Students from the NIM School of Engineering (SENG) Postgraduate Diploma In Engineering Management (PDEM) programme visited The Carbon Gallery, Asia’s first carbon-focused experiential hub, to deepen their understanding of carbon literacy, climate change and sustainable development.
Through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities and immersive learning experiences, students explored how carbon is connected to engineering, technology, everyday choices and the wider built environment. The visit encouraged students to consider how engineering innovation and technology can contribute to a low-carbon future while addressing pressing environmental challenges.
The visit also marked the first event organised by the NIM Environment Club, led by it’s President, Owen. The event provided students with an opportunity to take an active role in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability within the NIM community.
The experience examined sustainability issues from scientific, environmental, and engineering perspectives while developing informed, evidence-based thinking. They were also encouraged to recognise that achieving a more sustainable future requires continuous effort, innovation and collaboration.
Through the visit, students gained greater awareness of carbon emissions and climate change, while learning more about the important role engineers can play in developing sustainable solutions for the future
