Welcome to NIM: A Day of Fun, Teamwork, and New Beginnings

Yesterday, Nanyang Institute of Management held its largest orientation yet, welcoming students from China, India, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students eagerly anticipated the day ahead, and our staff was enthusiastic and kind, ensuring everyone felt welcome.

This time, even our Chairman, Mr. Wang, participated in the orientation. The event began with him sharing a warm welcome, followed by our President, Dr. Zhang, and our Deans, who introduced the school. After these introductions, our Student Services team provided an important briefing, and then we all headed off to Safra at Mt. Faber.

The first game was hosted by our Dean of the School of Business and the School of Logistics, Mr Johnson Teo. Students were divided into groups of ten, where they had to get to know each other before starting the game. They began with a fun and challenging activity where the students had to untangle themselves as a group, sparking laughter and teamwork.

Next, they progressed to a filling bucket race, hosted by Miss Nisa, the Dean of School of Language, competing against time and the beat of the music. This game showcased the students’ teamwork and communication skills as they strategized to win.

Before the BBQ, the students participated in a newspaper fashion show, where they had the chance to be innovative and creative. The results were fantastic, and we even selected a winner for the best design!

As the evening approached, the students enjoyed a delicious BBQ, savoring the food and the company before heading home.

We’re thrilled for them to start their journey with us and to be part of a happy and supportive environment!
