The Class of 2022-2024 Graduates

October 18, 2024 – Today marks a significant milestone as Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) celebrates the achievements of the graduating class of 2022 to 2024! This momentous occasion brings together students, faculty, and families to honor the hard work, resilience, and dedication of the graduates who have successfully completed their academic journeys.
The Class of 2024 has navigated an extraordinary academic year, filled with challenges, triumphs, and opportunities for growth. From adapting to the dynamic learning environments to participating in hands-on experiences, these graduates have demonstrated the skills and qualities that will serve them well in their future endeavors. Their achievements reflect not only their individual determination but also the unwavering support of the NIM community.
During the ceremony, esteemed faculty members shared words of wisdom and encouragement.

The ceremony opened with a warm welcome from Dr. Zhang Xuwei, NIM President, who congratulated the graduates for their achievements. In his address, Dr. Zhang highlighted the transformative journey NIM has undergone over the past few years, including the expansion of its campus, international partnerships, and the growth of its student body. He encouraged the graduates to face future challenges with confidence, continue learning, and cherish the global network they’ve built during their time at NIM.

Mr. Chan Soo Sen, Former Minister of State for Community Development and Sports, Education, and Trade and Industry, delivered a compelling keynote speech, urging graduates to set high aspirations and work hard to achieve them. Drawing from his own experiences, he emphasized the importance of defining personal success and leveraging the international exposure, connections and friendships formed during their studies. “NIM will always be your strong support wherever you go,” he reminded the graduates.

The event was made even more special with a speech from Mr. Lê Quang Hòa, who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to see graduation not as an end, but a new beginning. He emphasized the importance of embracing the future with confidence and becoming global citizens in an interconnected world, whilst translating his speech again to comply to our vietnamese students.

Mr. Craig Albrightson, NIM Vice President, delivered a heartfelt closing speech centered on the timeless advice: “Be authentic.” He emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself in a rapidly changing world and offered three key principles to guide the graduates on their journey.
First, know yourself—take time to reflect on who you are and what you truly want from life. Second, nurture relationships—healthy connections with others will bring joy and fulfillment. Finally, live with honesty and integrity—staying true to your values will help you navigate life’s challenges with strength and clarity.
Craig concluded his speech with a heartfelt Zulu blessing, wishing the graduates success and happiness as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. “Bafowethu nodadewethu, hambani kahle!”


The valedictorians delivered inspiring speeches, reflecting on the shared experiences throughout their journey in NIM. “We’ve learned that success is not measured solely by our achievements, but by the connections we’ve made, the obstacles we’ve overcome, and the ways we’ve grown as individuals.”

Chan Myae Khin, Valedictorian of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Tourism & Hospitality Management (Top-up),expressed her gratitude to NIM for providing the skills and industry experience that led to her current role in a renowned Japanese restaurant in Singapore. She thanked NIM lecturers, and her family for their unwavering support, which motivated her to succeed.
Nyan Win Shein, Valedictorian of the Advanced Diploma in Construction Engineering, spoke about perseverance and the importance of practical knowledge. He credited his success to the hands-on learning and supportive faculty, which prepared him to tackle real-world challenges in construction engineering. He also reflected on his transformation from being dependent to becoming an independent engineer. He emphasized the importance of networking and how NIM’s internship programme played a crucial role in shaping his professional skills.
Joseph Daiyagu Arokiyaraj Shiny Fabrina, Valedictorian of the Master of Business Administration – Finance, highlighted the value of financial expertise in today’s dynamic global economy. She encouraged her peers to remain adaptable and leverage their education to drive positive change in the finance sector. She also spoke of the challenges faced in balancing demanding schedules, highlighting how the MBA experience taught the importance of leadership, collaboration, and friendships formed along the way.
Su Nandar Aung, Valedictorian of the Postgraduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on the challenges and triumphs of the academic journey. She highlighted the importance of balancing work, family, and studies, acknowledging that resilience and determination were key to her success. Grateful to professors for their guidance and to family and friends for their unwavering support, she emphasized that this diploma symbolizes not just academic achievement, but readiness to face future challenges with confidence. She closed with an inspiring message to the Class of 2024: “The best is yet to come!”
Each valedictorian’s speech was a powerful reminder of the hard work, resilience, and passion that led to their academic success, leaving the audience inspired to follow their own paths with the same determination.
