Unfolding Perspectives: SAST CCCU Students Explore Visual Culture at Objectifs

The students from the School of Arts, Science and Technology (SAST) under the BA (Hons) Graphic Design (Top-Up) programme stepped out of the classroom once again into the immersive world of contemporary image-making at the Objectifs Chapel Gallery.

The group attended the exhibition “To unfold by feeling, the view from here is perfect,” a field trip designed to challenge and expand their understanding of critical visual practices. In an era where digital media saturates every aspect of daily life, the visit provided a crucial space for students to pause and deconstruct how images, whether static, moving, or sonic.

This exhibition served as a rich case study for interdisciplinary learning and creativity. Students engaged with works that traversed the boundaries between urban greenery, historical narratives, and the rapid evolution of imaging technologies.

The field trip highlighted the importance of experiential learning in the SAST curriculum. By connecting artistic inquiry with broader themes of technology, society, and the built environment, the visit fostered a deeper level of critical observation.

For these students, the gallery became a laboratory for thought, allowing them to see how creative practices can comment on and influence the world around them. As they explored the intersection of memory and place, they gained fresh insights into how we navigate the complex visual landscapes of the modern world.
