SAST students visits Singapore Biennale 2025!
Students from the School of Arts, Science and Technology (SAST) under the Advanced Diploma in Art and Design (ADAD) and BA (Hons) Graphic Design (Top-Up) programme participated in an educational visit to Singapore Biennale 2025 – Pure Intentions. The exhibition provided an immersive platform for students to explore contemporary art practices while engaging with thought-provoking themes such as identity, environmental awareness, and social responsibility.
Through guided observation and peer discussions, students examined a diverse range of artworks and curatorial approaches. This experience encouraged them to analyse artistic intent, interpret abstract concepts, and understand how they can respond to real-world issues. Exposure to both international and regional artists broadened their creative perspectives and deepened their appreciation for conceptual development within the arts.
The visit also reinforced key learning values. Students demonstrated their objectivity by evaluating artworks from multiple perspectives while learning to interpret meaning beyond personal biases. They also engaged with complex and abstract pieces, taking time to reflect and analyse deeper meanings. The experience fostered ambition, inspiring students to challenge their own creative boundaries and pursue innovative forms of expression. Most importantly, the visit strengthened their overall learning, enhancing critical thinking skills and expanding their understanding of contemporary art practices.
