Art That Speaks: SAST Students Explore Ai Weiwei’s World
Students from the School of Art, Science and Technology (SAST) visited the Tang Contemporary Art to experience the thought-provoking works of Ai Weiwei. The exhibition brought together a group of students for an immersive exploration of contemporary art and its role in reflecting and challenging society.
Through the use of familiar everyday objects and historical references, Ai Weiwei’s works transformed materials and scale to communicate a deeper narrative surrounding activism, identity, and socio-political issues. His artistic approach invited students to look beyond surface interpretations, encouraging them to consider the connections between craftsmanship, history, and lived experiences shaped by real-world circumstances.
The visit provided students with valuable exposure to contemporary art practices, prompting them to think critically about how art can influence public discourse.
