NIM Students Explore Contemporary Art and Creative Thinking at 60/60 Exhibition

What is 60/60?

More than just a celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, 60/60 is a bold artistic experiment, uniting 60 artistic practices within a shared space, reflecting dialogue, experimentation, and community in contemporary art.

Bachelor and Advanced Diploma students from the Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) immersed themselves in its vibrant showcase at INSTINC, immersing themselves in its energetic blend of ideas, materials, and perspectives. Adding to the excitement, students had the opportunity to view works created by NIM lecturers, including those of their NIM lecturers Andy Yang, Bridget Tay, and Ezzam Rahman, whose pieces contributed to the exhibition’s rich tapestry of creative expression.

Students were introduced to the background of each art piece by INSTINC founder Yeo Shih Yun, explaining how each art had a distinct perspective on identity, materiality, and the evolving Singaporean narrative. The experience deepened the student’s appreciation of how art mirrors society and fosters open-mindedness — essential qualities for tomorrow’s creative professionals.
