NIM Business Students Participate in Singapore-China Youth Forum 2025: Building Bridges for a Common Future
26 students from the School of Business at Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) took part in the prestigious Singapore-China Youth Forum 2025, held at the Singapore Polytechnic Convention Centre. This event was organised as part of the NIM Career Service Centre’s ongoing initiative to connect students with real-world international experiences and opportunities.
Co-organised by Business China and Wanhe International, the forum commemorated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China, gathering over 1,000 youth from both countries. With the theme “Together for a Common Future,” the event featured an engaging day of keynote speeches, panel discussions, fireside chats, and student-led breakout sessions focused on global cooperation and shared development.
A Platform for Growth and Exchange
Throughout the full-day forum, NIM students actively participated in discussions that tackled pressing global issues such as sustainability, international trade, and future-ready skills. Representing the Advanced Diploma in Management (ADIM) programme, the students engaged with peers and professionals from diverse backgrounds, exchanging views on global outlooks and cross-cultural challenges.
The forum also served as a powerful platform for NIM students to embody core values promoted by the institute:
- Objectivity: Students explored complex issues like geopolitics and sustainability with an open mind—approaching each topic through balanced, multicultural lenses, and appreciating both Singaporean and Chinese perspectives.
- Perseverance: Participating in a full day of intellectually demanding conversations, students demonstrated endurance and focus, rising to the challenge of navigating unfamiliar topics and differing viewpoints.
- Ambition: Exposure to international dialogue encouraged students to think beyond local contexts, nurturing a global mindset and a desire to play meaningful roles on the world stage.
- Learning: From thought-provoking keynote addresses to interactive group presentations, students gained first-hand insights into regional cooperation, global career trends, and the power of cultural fluency in today’s interconnected world.
