A Prosperous Lunar New Year at NIM
The Student Council did it yet again with another vibrant Lunar New Year event! A time for reunions, honoring traditions, and welcoming luck, joy, and prosperity, celebrated with the diverse NIM community.
The atmosphere was eclectic from the moment the music and exciting activities kicked off. As the lights dimmed, the rhythmic beat of festive music and a shadow puppet show offered a rare folklore that captivated the audience, bringing them into a magical glimpse of traditional storytelling and intricate silhouettes carefully crafted and performed by the students.
The Student Councils even showcased contemporary, catchy tunes and traditional yet trendy dances that lifted the room.
The creative corner was another hit, featuring 3 distinct cultural crafts. Students practiced the steady hand required for Chinese calligraphy, DIY Lanterns, and Symmetrical paper cutting. Each activity offers a meaningful blend of creativity, tradition, and hands-on learning. Allowing students not just to observe culture but to experience it actively.
The event once again showcased the Student Council’s dedication to creating engaging, culturally rich experiences for the NIM community. More than just a celebration, the Lunar New Year event became a moment of connection. A joyful reminder of how traditions can bring people together across backgrounds, languages, and cultures.
