New Students Welcomed at NIM Orientation Day
The latest intake of students at Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) were officially welcomed through an engaging and activity-filled Orientation Day. The programme began at 9:45 AM with registration, where students collected their t-shirts and prepared for the day ahead.
The orientation formally kick-started with a Welcome Speech delivered by Mr. Craig Albrightson, NIM Vice President, setting the vibe for an exciting journey ahead at NIM.
Mr. Craig Albrightson personally welcomed our new students. His words reflected the genuine care and commitment that NIM has for every individual who joins our community.
Mr. Craig Albrightson reminded students that from the very first day, they are not just learners in a classroom, but valued members of a family that is ready to guide, support, and nurture them throughout their journey. His welcome set the tone for an inspiring start to the academic year, reinforcing NIM’s dedication to creating an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and ready to succeed.
This was followed by a briefing on NIM campus life, where students were introduced to the rules, regulations, and the vibrant community that makes up the institute. Students also learned about the English classes available to them, aimed at supporting their academic success and helping them connect better with their peers. The Career Services team also briefed them on school activities, career development opportunities, and student engagement initiatives.
Last but certainly not least, our newly formed Student Council was introduced to the crowd. This marked their very first official duty as a team — welcoming and guiding new students as they embark on their journey at NIM.
Their presence symbolises peer support, leadership, and the spirit of community that we strive to foster. A warm round of applause and heartfelt thanks went out to them for stepping up with dedication and enthusiasm. We look forward to the positive impact they will bring in shaping student life at NIM.

Students then headed into breakout sessions organized by their individual schools, where they were introduced to their Deans and Full-Time lecturers. Far from being a formal sit-down, these sessions created an interactive space for open conversations — a chance to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain clearer insight into their academic path ahead. It was an opportunity not just to learn, but to start building meaningful connections with the people who will guide their journey at NIM.
Once lunch wrapped up, the afternoon opened with lighthearted ice-breaking activities designed to spark laughter and teamwork. Students were placed into small groups, building quick connections before diving into the highlight of the day — the Amazing Race.

The adventure kicked off at Marina Barrage, setting the stage for an afternoon of exploration and friendly competition. Teams navigated their way through challenges spread across some of Singapore’s most famous attractions, including Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum, the Louis Vuitton boutique, Helix Bridge, and even a sampan boat ride at Gardens by the Bay.
The race wasn’t just about speed; it was about collaboration, discovery, and creating unforgettable memories in the heart of Singapore’s cityscape with their newfound friends.
After an afternoon of exciting challenges across Singapore’s cityscape, two standout groups emerged at the top.
The second team celebrated their victory with Starbucks vouchers, a well-deserved treat after their spirited performance.
The first team won the coveted Labubu, making the prize extra special with a hidden surprise — yes, we discovered a secret Labubu in the mix!
These lighthearted rewards added a fun twist to the day, bringing plenty of laughter and cheers from their peers. More importantly, the competition reminded everyone that Orientation is not just about speed or winning, but about collaboration, discovery, and creating friendships that will last throughout their journey at NIM.
