Mooncakes baked, memories made! Mid-Autumn Festival at NIM
This Mid-Autumn Festival, Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) brought the tradition of mooncake-making to life right on campus! The spirit of the festival came alive as students took part in a hands-on mooncake-making session right on campus.
Dr. Zhang Xuwei, NIM President, opened the event with a heartfelt speech, emphasizing the value of fostering connections and sharing his hope that international students will cherish and take part in this meaningful tradition for years to come.
To make the activity engaging, the event was organized into groups, with each group equipped with their own set of tools and ingredients. This setup allowed everyone to experience the process from start to finish—mixing, molding, and shaping mooncakes in their own unique way. The room was filled with excitement, laughter, along with the delicious aroma of mooncake treats, and the sound of new friendships forming.
More than just a festive tradition, the mooncake-making session was a chance for students to learn about cultural heritage, bond with peers, and take home not just mooncakes but also warm memories. Events like this remind us that celebrations are not only about food but about the joy of creating and sharing experiences together.
At NIM, the Mid-Autumn Festival was not just celebrated, it’s held to be lived, remembered, and cherished.
