Hanyang Women's University Study Tour
Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) was honoured to welcome students and faculty from Hanyang Women’s University for a close to two-week study tour focused on Tourism and Hospitality Management. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was one of warmth, enthusiasm, and shared purpose. The programme was officially launched with the presence of our distinguished counterparts and leaders, setting a strong and meaningful tone for the journey ahead.
The opening was graced by NIM’s leadership team, including Vice President, Mr Raymond Khoo, Assistant Vice President and Dean of Tourism and Hospitality, Dr Johnson Teo, and Assistant Dean of Tourism and Hospitality, Mr Sasa, setting a strong and welcoming tone for the programme. This exchange also gives us the honour of meeting and exchanging meaningful conversations with Professor Park Kyung Yeon (Ken) and Director Thomas Lee from Hanyang Women’s University, further reinforcing the spirit of international collaboration and the shared commitment of both institutions to academic excellence and industry relevance.
Over the course of the programme, students were immersed in a curriculum that balanced theoretical foundations with practical, hands-on learning. The lessons reflected NIM’s core philosophy of delivering industry-relevant education, ensuring students gained real-world insights into the tourism and hospitality sector. This applied approach not only deepened understanding but also allowed students to see how classroom concepts translate directly into professional practice.
The success of the programme was made possible by the dedication and passion of NIM’s teaching team. Mr Joseph Chan, Mr Victor Seah, Ms Genevieve Wong, Ms Fitri, and Ms Nisa conducted highly engaging and interactive sessions that brought the subject matter to life. Their dynamic teaching styles fostered active participation, meaningful discussions, and an enriching learning environment that was equally enjoyable for both students and lecturers.
The programme concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, marking the culmination of nearly two weeks of learning, cultural exchange, and shared growth. It was a proud moment that celebrated not just academic achievement, but also the strong bonds formed throughout the journey. As we reflected on the experience, one phrase perfectly captured the spirit of the programme: this 2 weeks was not for nothing, it ended up with us having a little slogan harmonising the two “Nanyang and Hanyang, fighting!”—a Korean expression of encouragement that symbolised unity, resilience, and the shared determination that defined this collaboration.

Behind the scenes, the programme was seamlessly coordinated through the efforts of Senior Manager for Student Recruitment and Admissions, Ms Rachel Lip, whose commitment and meticulous planning ensured the study tour ran smoothly from start to finish. Her role was instrumental in turning the vision of this collaboration into a successful and memorable experience for all involved.
We look forward to seeing another batch of Hanyang Women’s University students!
