Empowering future leaders with NIM’s Career Talk
Students at Nanyang Institute of Management were treated to an insightful and inspiring career talk led by Ms. Thong Sue Yen, Assistant Dean for School of Engineering and School of Arts, Science & Technology, and Director of the Career Service Centre today. With her extensive experience in career development and student success, Ms. Thong brought practical strategies and fresh perspectives to the table, helping students better understand what it takes to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

The session focused on career planning, job market trends, and personal branding, offering students a roadmap to navigate their professional journeys. Ms. Thong emphasised the importance of self-awareness, skills development, and adaptability, especially in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Students were also given tips on crafting S.M.A.R.T goals to build a strong professional presence, preparing for interviews, and goals to build a strong professional presence online. Ms. Thong also shared real-life success stories and challenges from previous alumni, making the session both relatable and motivating.

The talk concluded with an engaging sharing segment, where students had the opportunity to share about their career goals, learn about future skills in demand, and how to stand out as fresh graduates. Ms. Thong’s approachable style and actionable advice left a lasting impression on the students.
