Celebrating Collaboration and Connection: A Dynamic Day with New Students and CCCU!
The spirit of collaboration came alive today as students and staff at Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) welcomed not just new students from July Orientation, but distinguished representatives from UK’s Top 1 Graduate Employment University, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), for a meaningful and action-packed event. With interactive student engagement, the event showcased NIM’s commitment to creating vibrant, student-centered experiences.
A Warm Welcome
The day kicked off with a warm welcome for the CCCU representatives and students of July Orientation, with an opening speech led by Dr. Zhang Xuwei, NIM President, Mr.Craig Albrightson, Vice President of NIM and Professor Rama Thirunamachandran, Vice Chancellor of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), highlighting the importance of providing today’s education for our students while ensuring quality partnership.
Dr. Zhang Xuwei, President of NIM, delivered an inspiring opening address highlighting the students’ journey ahead and NIM’s meaningful partnership with CCCU.
Professor Rama Thirunamachandran, Vice Chancellor of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), shared his thoughts on the value of collaborating with high-quality education partners.
The momentous unveiling of the plaque was met with applause, symbolising the strong and growing bond between CCCU and NIM. The plaque commemorated this important chapter of cross-border academic partnership.
The focus shifted to providing students with valuable insights into navigating. The Student Services, Operations Team, and Career Services each delivered briefings that provided useful insights and practical tips on navigating life at NIM and preparing for future opportunities.
Let the Games Begin: Ice Breakers and Amazing Race
After a brief lunch break, the energy shifted gears with a fun-filled ice-breaking session. Students formed groups and explained the rules of the much-anticipated Amazing Race.
The Amazing Race officially commenced and was led to start at one of Singapore’s scenic landmark, the Marina Barrage, and were challenged through fun missions around Singapore’s iconic landmarks such as the Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum, Louis Vuitton Boutique, Helix Bridge, Sampan Boat Ride at MBS Gardens By the Bay.
The day exemplified NIM’s holistic approach to education — one that values connection, creativity, and community.
As the event concluded, what remained were not just photos and videos, but new friendships, memories, and a deeper bond between NIM and CCCU — one that will continue to grow with every shared experience.
