NIM Launches Breaking Ground Exhibition Showcasing Student Creativity
Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) officially opened its Breaking Ground Exhibition, done by our Advanced Diploma in Arts and Design students, on 3rd August 2026 with an opening ceremony held at the NIM Campus, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to celebrate creativity, artistic expression, and academic excellence.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Dr. Zhang Xuwei, NIM President, who highlighted the importance of providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the classroom. He emphasised that the exhibition reflects NIM’s commitment to nurturing creativity, innovation, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.
The event was then graced by Guest of Honour, Ms. Dan Hong, who shared words of encouragement with students and recognised the dedication, passion, and originality demonstrated in their works. Her address inspired students to continue exploring their creative potential and pursue excellence in their artistic journeys.
Following the speeches, Dr. Zhang Xuwei formally conferred the title of Honorary Professor upon Ms. Dan Hong. The ceremony then continued with a ribbon-cutting officiated by Dr. Zhang, marking the official opening of the exhibition and the beginning of the showcase.
Guests were then taken on a guided exhibition tour led by Ms.Thong, who introduced the featured student artworks and shared the creative concepts behind each piece. The tour offered an opportunity for guests to engage with the students’ work and appreciate the diverse range of artistic perspectives on display.
The ceremony concluded with students, staff, and invited guests exploring the exhibition, celebrating the achievements of the young artists, and fostering meaningful conversations around creativity, design, and innovation.
The Breaking Ground Exhibition reflects NIM’s dedication to providing students with platforms to showcase their talents, gain industry exposure, and build confidence as they prepare for their future careers in the creative industries.
