A Wonderful Workshop with Acclaimed Artist Feng Jing
Students from the School of Arts, Science and Technology had the privilege of attending a special workshop by acclaimed artist Feng Jing, the third-generation inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage painting technique Jin Hui Dui. As a Life Member of The Society of Chinese Artists in Singapore, Feng Jing—also known as Jane Fong—shared her mastery of this rare and intricate art form.
Known for her dedication to the traditional styles of the Song and Yuan dynasties, Feng Jing blends influences from various schools of painting while innovatively integrating techniques from both Chinese and Western art. Her work incorporates oil paint and traditional Chinese pigments, producing pieces highly valued by collectors worldwide. Her creativity also extends into cultural product design, earning her numerous international awards.
During the workshop, she demonstrated the Jin Hui Dui technique and guided students through creating their own pieces. It was a truly rewarding and eye-opening experience for all involved.
A special thank you to Feng Jing, everyone who helped make this meaningful session possible. The students left with new skills, deeper appreciation for heritage art, and their very own handcrafted artwork.
