Course Objective
The degree aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of the key concepts, methodologies, and employability skills essential for managing tourism, hospitality, and event organizations. It fosters a well-rounded understanding of consumer behavior within various visitor economy environments and enhances students’ ability to address contemporary challenges faced by industry managers, preparing them to be “work ready.” Additionally, it empowers students to recognize and navigate the social, cultural, economic, environmental, and political dimensions of these industries, while developing their capacity to apply relevant management, financial, and operational theories to practice. The program emphasizes the importance of meeting client needs through effective relationship management and equips students with the skills to conduct independent research using appropriate techniques and methodologies. Furthermore, it ensures that students develop and demonstrate strong communication skills.

Understand the defining characteristics of tourism and hospitality including its origin, meanings and integral cultural and managerial concepts
Critically analysis
Critically analyse the nature, characteristics and behaviour of tourists and consumers within the context of the experience economy.
Best practice in international tourism
Understand and analyse the various moral, ethical, environmental and sustainability issues which underpin best practice in international tourism and hospitality management.
Communication Skills
Demonstrate good communication skills including a high standard of writing, punctuation, grammar and spelling.

Course assessment is subjected to changes by the University.
