NIM Students Came Together to Celebrate SG61
The spirit of National Day came alive at Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) as students and staff gathered to celebrate Singapore’s 61st birthday in a vibrant display of unity, culture, and community.
Dressed in red and white, the NIM community filled Level 5 with patriotic spirit as the Student Council organised a series of exciting activities and performances that brought everyone together.
The celebration showcased our students’ energetic performance by the NIM Dance Club, followed by a heartfelt poetry recitation by one of the members from the Student Council’s China student representatives, highlighting the appreciation and experiences of international students studying in Singapore.
In addition, students participated in a lively game of charades, where winners walked away with exciting prizes.
Adding a multicultural twist to the festivities, students also took part in a fun tongue-twister challenge that introduced them to a new language. Filled with laughter and friendly encouragement, the activity invited participants to step out of their comfort zones and embrace learning a few new phrases.
Furthermore, our students took part in “Pen Your Feelings About Singapore” where they shared personal messages of gratitude, memorable experiences, and well wishes for the nation.
No National Day celebration would be complete without some local snacks, creating opportunities to connect, laugh, and celebrate together. Students took the chance to display their National Day spirit with a good selection of Singapore-themed temporary tattoos. Featuring iconic symbols and patriotic designs, the tattoos became a favourite among students sooner than we thought, allowing everyone to join in celebrations in a fun and creative way while showing their appreciation for Singapore.
This event reflected NIM’s diverse and inclusive community, where students from different countries come together to experience Singapore’s rich culture and traditions. As Singapore celebrates another milestone, NIM wishes everyone a Happy National Day and looks forward to creating many more memorable moments as one community.
