Highlights from NIM’s First 2026 Orientation!
2026 Orientation Day at Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) marked the official welcome for our new intake, offering students a structured introduction to campus life, academic support, and student services, balancing fun and interaction.
The day followed an opening welcome speech by Mr. Craig Albrightson, Vice President of NIM, who warmly greeted students and shared insights on starting their academic journey with confidence and purpose.
Dr. Johnson, Assistant Vice President of NIM, highlighted the importance of commitment, attentiveness, and respectful learning behaviours in supporting students’ academic success.
Students were then introduced to key support teams across the institute. Student Services, represented by Ms. Farhana and Ms. Qurratu, shared important information on student support and welfare.
This was followed by an operational briefing from Mr. Nathan of the Operations Team, ensuring students were familiar with campus processes, facilities, and the rules and regulations to abide by in Singapore.
Ms Nisa, Dean of School of Language, introduced NIM’s English Class, highlighting how students can strengthen their communication and presentation skills throughout their studies.
Shortly after, Ms.Thong and Mr. Melvyn from Career Services shared how they will be open to supporting students beyond the classroom, offering guidance on career planning, employability skills, and preparing for the working world during their studies at NIM. The session continued with an introduction by the Student Council, where Charlie, Student Council President, shared how students can get involved in campus life and prepare for upcoming clubs and events coming along.
After a lunch break, the afternoon session focused on bonding and teamwork through games. Students took part in an exhilarating ping pong challenge, followed by the highly anticipated Guess My Doodle game. In this activity, one student attempted to draw behind their back while their teammate guessed the drawing from the front — leading to plenty of laughter, creativity, and memorable moments.
Orientation Day was more than just an introduction — it was the start of new friendships, support systems, and a shared sense of belonging within the NIM community.
