Are you looking for accommodation while you are studying in NIM? These are some of the most popular types of accommodation available in Singapore.

Accommodation Arrangement

Accommodation rental rates in Singapore are dependent on several factors such as the location, furnishings and facilities provided, and the type of occupancy you require.

Hostel

These are privately-run accommodation for students. You may opt to have a single room or share the room with someone. Basic facilities include common bathrooms, a bed and study table. Some may have facilities for common dining areas, laundry services and even sports and recreation facilities.

HDB Apartments

These are public housing apartments with 2 – 4 bedrooms in each flat. The room usually comes with basic furnishings like bed, writing desk, chair, and electric fan and usually includes the use of electricity, water and gas. Additional costs may be incurred if you require other facilities and arrangements.

Private Apartments / Condominiums / Terrace Houses

These are private housing apartments with 2 – 4 bedrooms in each flat. The room usually comes with basic furnishings like bed, writing desk, chair, and electric fan and usually includes the use of electricity, water and gas. Condominiums are usually costlier compared to apartments due to the facilities available. Additional costs may be incurred if you require other facilities and arrangements.

Do note that the above information is for student reference ONLY. Students are encouraged to look for their own accommodation prior to entering Singapore. Nanyang Institute of Management will only assist students to engage in third-party vendors who offer these services.

Term & Conditions of Tenancy Agreement:

You will need to sign a Tenancy Agreement with your landlord.

Most agreements state the rental per month, what the rental covers and when you need to pay your rent.

You are usually required to place a deposit of one month and pay the first month’s rent in advance. If you intend to end the Agreement, you are usually needed to give at least a month’s notice.

You are also expected to take good care of the items entrusted to you or you will need to pay for any damages and breakages.

Airport Pick-up Arrangement

For your convenience, NIM can arrange airport pick-up service for international students. When you arrive at Singapore Changi International Airport, someone will be waiting at the Arrival Hall to welcome you. He will then send you to your destination in Singapore.
