The UWS MBA has been designed to reflect the ever-changing nature of business and the global challenges which business leaders are facing. It focuses on developing strategic analytical skills, as well as business intuition and enquiring and adaptive thinking, to develop you as a leader.
It has a structure that takes advantage of an integrative teaching approach which provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of how key business functions impact upon one another. Using a variety of methods such as role play exercises, case studies, and in-company analysis etc., communication, negotiation and facilitating skills will be developed and enhanced.
The course also places a strong emphasis on developing applied managerial skills that are vital to managing creativity, as well as problem solving skills to be an effective business leader. Covering specific focus areas such as leadership and enterprise.
Course Objectives

The MBA consists of 9 modules totalling 180 credit points.

- New Venture Creation (10 Credit Points)
- Analytical Thinking and Decision Making (20 Credit Points)
- Managing Organisational Health (20 Credit Points)
- Influencing Organisational Strategy (20 Credit Points)
- Innovation Entrepreneurship and the Market (20 Credit Points)
- Strategic Business Project# (60 Credit Points)
#The Strategic Business Project forms your MBA dissertation and will require you to utilize all of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the MBA on a significant business issue. It may require qualitative and/or quantitative research and analysis. You will be required to develop a suitable proposal which is acceptable to your project supervisor.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants should be at least 21 years of age at the time of application and be expected to satisfy at least one of the following academic requirements:
- Have a degree awarded by an accredited institution
- Have a postgraduate award (passed at an appropriate level)
- Have an appropriate professional qualification such as those from ACCA or CIMA
- Other relevant academic, professional qualification or work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- International students: overall IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) and no less than 5.5 in any individual component. UWS will also consider applicants who have previously studied at degree level, taught and assessed in English, in what UKVI define as a majority English-speaking country. Applicants who do not have the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test.
Delivery, Assessment and Award
Delivery
This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.
There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.
Learning and exchange takes place through a dynamic, mixed of face-to-face, virtual learning hub: the UWS Online MBA World, which will offer opportunities for students to engage and collaborate within their modules on an international basis.
Assessment
Assessments comprise a combination of individual and/or group assignments such as project proposals, reports, business plans, written assignments, essays, case-studies, presentations, online-thread discussion, journals-diary-learning log, and/or syndicate work.
Award
Upon passing all required modules, a student will be awarded a Master of Business Administration qualification from the University of the West of Scotland. The degree awarded will be the same as that awarded to on-campus students of the university.
