Advanced Diploma in Management


Course Objectives

This course covers a wide spectrum of inter-disciplinary aspect of business. Students will graduate with a strong understanding of the business process. Students will be equipped with the necessary know-how to effectively operate in various middle management positions in the business world or to pursue further studies in business and management studies.  Students are provided with a holistic view of business processes and an in-depth understanding of the various functions of business management.

Course Structure

The course comprises 12 fully taught modules.
Duration : 16 months for full-time studies
                   24 months for part-time studies
Average teacher-student ratio – 1 : 30
Maximum course duration:36 months for full time studies
                                          36 months for part-time studies 

Mode of Delivery

This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.
There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.

NIM shall notify the student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

i.It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date; or
ii.It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date.

NIM shall inform the student in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any).
NIM shall refund student according to the Refund Policy in the Standard PEI-Student Contract.
The waiting period for the commencement of course is 2 to 4 months depending on the course applied for.

Entry Requirements

• 2 GCE A Level Pass or formal year 12 foreign qualification, IB Diploma, Polytechnic diploma in relevant areas of Business and Management, NIM Diploma in Management, Certificate in Foundation Studies or International Certificate in Foundation Studies
• IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test.

• Applicants should be at least 17 years of age at the time of application.

Assessment & Awards

Assessment of modules comprises coursework and written examinations. The coursework may include individual report, reflective assignment/log., presentation, individual assignment, group presentation, group discussion, portfolio, case study, and/or group project.

Upon passing all 12 modules, a student will be awarded the Nanyang Institute of Management Advanced Diploma in Management.
