► The UWS Business School has been providing MBA education to a global audience since the late 1980s.

The MBA programme focuses on developing strategic analytical skills as well as business intuition and enquiring and adaptive thinking to meet the ever-changing nature of business, and the global challenges which business leaders are facing,

The UWS MBA has a structure that takes advantage of an integrative teaching approach which provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of how key business functions impact upon one another.   As well as providing the essential core business knowledge and understanding, the programme places a strong emphasis on developing the applied managerial skills that are vital to managing creativity, as well as problem solving.  As well as providing essential core business knowledge and understanding, the course modules place a strong emphasis on developing the applied managerial skills that are vital to be an effective business leader. Using a variety of methods such as role play exercises, case studies, and in-company analysis etc., your communication, negotiation and facilitating skills will be developed and enhanced.

► In addition to developing a broad base of management knowledge, the MBA has specialisation in one of three areas - leadership, enterprise or finance. This allows you to align your MBA studies to your current career, or career aspirations.


► There are, all in total of 180 credits:

a) 5 core modules of 90 credits:
-        Integration of Business Functions (10 credits),
-        Analytical Thinking and Decision Making (20 credits),
-        Managing Organisational Health (20 credits),
-        Influencing Organisational Strategy (20 credits), and
-        Creativity and Business Wealth (20 credits);
b) The Strategic Business Project of 60 credits;
c) Choose any 3 option modules of 30 credits from the following streams:
•        Leadership stream
-        Leading Change (10 credits)
-        Influencing Organisational Culture and Change (10 credits)
•        Enterprise stream
-        New Venture Creation (10 credits)
-        Business Creativity (10 credits)
•        Finance stream
-        Advanced Financial Functions (10 credits)
-        Global Financial Systems (10 credits)


► Duration   :1 year for full-time studies
                     2 years for part-time studies


► Average teacher-student ratio – 1 : 50


► This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.

► There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.

► Learning and exchange takes place through a dynamic, mixed of face-to-face, virtual learning hub: the UWS Online MBA World, which will offer opportunities for students to engage and collaborate within their modules on an international basis.

► NIM shall notify the student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:
i.    It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date; or
ii.   It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date.

►NIM shall inform the student in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any).
NIM shall refund student according to the Refund Policy in the Standard PEI-Student Contract.
The waiting period for the commencement of course is 2 to 4 months depending on the course applied for.


► Applicants will normally be expected to satisfy at least one of the following admission requirements:
-   Have a bachelor degree awarded by an appropriate institution
-   Have a postgraduate award (passed at an appropriate level)
-   Have an appropriate professional qualification such as those from ACCA or CIMA
-   Have passed a pre-Masters, or other foundation course
-   Be a mature student with relevant work or professional experience
-   Applicants may also be considered with other academic, vocational or professional qualifications deemed equivalent.


► International students: overall IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) and no less than 5.5 in any individual component. UWS will also consider applicants who have previously studied at degree level, taught and assessed in English, in what UKVI define as a majority English-speaking country. Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test. 


► Assessments comprise a combination of individual and/or group assignments such as project proposals, reports, business plans, written assignments, presentations, essays, case-studies, presentations, online-thread discussion, journals-diary-learning log, and/or syndicate work

► Upon passing all required modules, a student will be awarded a Master of Business Administration qualification from the University of the West of Scotland. The degree awarded will be the same as that awarded to on-campus students of the university.
