Bachelor of Hospitality (Management)

Course Objectives

This degree will provide students with:

• A sound understanding of the management principles and concepts with the ability to develop, evaluate and critique management approaches and theories

High level technical hospitality skills and knowledge

The academic skills and attributes to research and critically assess information and effectively apply them to organisational situations

The ability to build on previous vocational studies and/or work experience and apply these techniques to effectively manage in a hospitality context

Course Structure

This 36 months full-time programme includes classroom studies and 6 months of Industrial Attachment.

The average teacher-student ratio is 1 : 50

Maximum period allowed for a student to complete the course is 6 years.

NIM shall notify the student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

i.It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date; or
ii.It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date.

NIM shall inform the student in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any).
NIM shall refund student according to the Refund Policy in the Standard PEI-Student Contract.
The waiting period for the commencement of course is 2 to 4 months depending on the course applied for.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following entry requirements:

2 GCE A Level Pass or formal year 12 foreign qualification or IB Diploma OR Certificate or International Certificate in Foundation Studies OR
• Polytechnic Diploma in relevant areas of Tourism and Hospitality Management; OR
• NIM Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management
• NIM Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management

IELTS 6.0 or equivalent 
Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test.
Applicants should be at least 17 years of age at the time of application.


Combination of written assignment, presentation, class tests, and examinations


Upon successful completion of all modules, the student will be awarded the Bachelor of Hospitality (Management) by the Federation University Australia
