Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme aims to provide learners with a broad and thorough grounding  of different disciplines needed to start a career of logistics and supply chain management,   The programme objective is designed to:
► provide learners with a fundamental understanding of the key functions of management needed in logistics and supply chain management.
► give an overview of the fundamentals of logistics, supply chain management and transportation
► adapt learners to problem solve and be effective learners in the ever-evolving arena of the logistics and supply chain management industries.
► To equip students with a thorough understanding of the types of business organizations and issues of employment and the legal aspects needed for logistics industries

COURSE STRUCTURE

► The course comprises 8 fully taught modules.

► Duration : 8 months for full-time studies 
                   12 months for part-time studies

► Average teacher-student ratio – 1 : 30

► Maximum course duration:16 months for full time studies
                                          24 months for part-time studies

MODE OF DELIVERY
 
This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.  There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.

NIM shall notify the student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

i.It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date; or
ii.It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date.

NIM shall inform the student in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any).
NIM shall refund student according to the Refund Policy in the Standard PEI-Student Contract.
The waiting period for the commencement of course is 2 to 4 months depending on the course applied for.
 

ACADEMIC PROGRESSION PATHWAY

Students who successfully completed the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management program may apply to Nanyang Institute of Management Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

• 2x GCE A Level or formal Year-12 education or IB Diploma; OR Polytechnic diploma in relevant areas of Business, Management, Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
• IELTS 5.5 or equivalent 
• Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test.
• Applicants should be at least 17 years of age at the time of application.

 
ASSESSMENT & AWARDS

Assessment for most modules comprise coursework, tutorials, tests and/or written examinations. The coursework may include tests, practical assignments, research projects and/or tutorial participation.
 
Upon passing all 8 modules, a student will be awarded the Nanyang Institute of Management Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
