Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Hospitality Leadership & Management (Awarded by Leeds Beckett University)

This course will enable you to become an entrepreneurial leader and manager who can transform the hospitality organisations of the future. Students will learn the difference between leadership and management and the relationship between the two in the hospitality industry. Students will be trained to think strategically and understand how to manage employees and hospitality resources effectively. With focuses on real-life consultancy projects and assessments, learning will be relevant and beneficial to your future career.

Course Learning Outcome

  • Evaluate and analyse the size, scope, culture, nature and diversity of the global hospitality industry
  • Adapt their leadership and management style for the development of hospitality operations and organisations within a range of dynamic sectors
  • Create innovative, entrepreneurial and technological solutions to a range of complex issues in the hospitality industry
  • Prepare, respond and react to both anticipated and unanticipated environmental and organisational change
  • Stop, reflect and consider their own continuing self-development and career enhancement
  • Initiate, plan, design, research and sustain an extended piece of independent intellectual work

Duration: 36 months (Full Time)

This 36 months full-time programme includes 16 fully taught modules, 6 months of Industrial Attachment and an Individual Project.
The average teacher-student ratio is 1 : 50
Maximum period allowed for a student to complete the course is 6 years.

Mode of Delivery

This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.

There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.

NIM shall notify the student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

i.It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date; or
ii.It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date.

NIM shall inform the student in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any).
NIM shall refund student according to the Refund Policy in the Standard PEI-Student Contract.
The waiting period for the commencement of course is 2 to 4 months depending on the course applied for.

Entry Requirements

• 2 GCE A Level Pass or formal Year 12 education or IB Diploma OR
• Polytechnic diploma in relevant areas of Hospitality and Tourism Management; OR
• NIM Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management OR
• NIM Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management
• IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
• Applicants who do not possess the minimum English Language proficiency requirements are required to sit and pass the NIM English Proficiency Test
• Applicants should be at least 17 years of age at the time of application


Assessments and Awards

Assessment of modules comprises coursework and written examinations. The coursework may include individual report, reflective assignment/log., presentation, individual assignment, group presentation, group discussion, portfolio, case study, and/or group project.

Upon passing all 18 modules, a student will be  awarded the  Leeds Beckett University’s BSc (Hons) Hospitality Leadership and Management.
