The “OPAL” Values The Opal symbolises for Nanyang Institute of Management its attributes in its highest and figurative sense, representing for NIM and all its students and staff, sterling qualities that nurture and groom both the individual and the organisation into better entities, productive and contributory to their community, environment and themselves. Our Service Guarantee to students:
- NIM upholds a high service standard.
- NIM’s lecturers/teachers/tutors are selected qualified professionals in their field.
- NIM average lecturer to student ratio is 1 to 30 (this varies with courses and the mode of delivery to maximise learning outcomes).
- NIM offers students adequate facilities and support services to foster a conducive and pleasant learning experience.
- NIM accepts students if they possess the required qualification/s and language proficiency as stipulated in the signed standard student contracts.
- NIM will stand by our signed standard student contract agreement.
Certification and Awards
As part of the Private Education Act in Singapore; Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) is required to be registered with the Committee for Private Education (CPE). This demonstrates that NIM has fulfilled the necessary academic and corporate governance as stipulated by the CPE under the Private Education Act.
In addition, there are quality, process and procedure assurance required by CPE under the Edutrust Certification. Institutions that enroll foreign students must be Edutrust certified. NIM has attained the 4-year Edutrust Certification.
In addition, NIM has voluntarily been ISO certified to ensure that we have the necessary quality management system necessary for the delivery of private education courses and training.

Nanyang Institute of Management’s (NIM) Academic and Examination Board are made up of highly qualified and experienced members from the industry, academia and management of NIM. This is in line with NIM’s mission of delivering market relevant programs for students to succeed in their chosen careers. The Academic Board is the policy making body that provides directions and strategies for the academic management of NIM. The board oversees and reviews academic matters pertaining to admission criteria, courses, course delivery, lecturers and academic performance. The Examination Board is responsible for the moderation of examination results and determining the progression and awards of the students. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Singh held the position of VP & Director of Business Excellence with Singapore Technologies Engineering; he also headed the Productivity Development Unit at the Ministry of Defence. Mr. Singh is a pioneer and an experienced Singapore Quality Award Assessor, a Supervisory and National Assessor for the People Developer Standard.

Mr. Alfred PANG
Academic Director, Nanyang Institute of Management
BTech (Hons, Computing Technology) and MTech (Hons, Quality Systems) – Massey University (New Zealand); Post-graduate Diploma in Education – Wellington Polytechnic (New Zealand). Alfred has in excess of 30 years of experience in technical and education industries. In education, he has taught and took on roles in educational support and management (Higher Education in Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand).

Mr Yang has an MBA and Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University. Leonard has held senior management positions for more than 15 years with Asiawide Tends Asia and Institute of Technical Education. He also has previous lecturing experiences with SIM University, EASB and Raffles Education.
